Gotta love no instructions.

RodrigoWi responds:

The first time you start the game, there are keys showing where you launch kunai and where you use the parachute.

The first really worthwhile platformer I've played in a while. Amazing!

Butzbo responds:

Thank you sir! :)

Do not steal and repost other people's content gtfo here with that.

This isn't YouTube this is a community of creators and viewers who are trying to support and keep alive what's left of a golden era of internet content.

This isn't a file dump for re-uploads of other people's shit.

FlamesAtGames responds:

I made this, what are you talking about?
If you've found it anywhere else online, please let me know where.
This is just a WIP test build for a bigger project I'm working on, and I haven't released it anywhere else.
If it's on any other website, then someone must've stolen it from here.
Please send the link.

Very dope! The level progression is really good. It gets hard just fast enough to get used to it and not get stuck for too long but after a point the difficulty ramps up quickly.

VeryEvilTomato responds:

We tried to do our best in the 3 days we had, but I completely understand the difficulty ramp up

Very cool! The game is startling in a good way. the art looks dope and so does the walk cycle. The bows have me stuck though. I see the pattern on the wall but if you get it wrong once does it reset? because I've done it three times correctly and it does nothing. or does it always reset after three? because I wasn't paying attention at first and I didn't keep track of if my move was divisible by three and thus at the start of a pattern. not sure what the issue is.

tRipGlyPh responds:

Thanks! The first puzzle is not broken. Try different solutions based on the pattern on the wall.

The art looks great and the gameplay is alright but really repetitive and not that original. I can only assume based on the current trend and the fact that the aspect ratio looks like an iphone that this is another iphone app clone?

DurzanTwo responds:

No, it's not an iphone clone !!! I'm studying games designer so the repetitive scenario !!! But I'll try to work on something different so I do not get repetitive but a more attractive game

Great game! Well designed, simple but nice style.

The controls are the best part of the game which is usually most of these games biggest flaw (you prolly can tell lol) the fact that the jump is so small is a lot of this game's success because it makes it so you have to engage with all the challenges and can't jump over and skip sections of the level once you get the controls down like you can in many platformers. also the fact that you don't slide when you hit the ground is an important touch as well

my main suggestion would have been to get to the good stuff earlier. i know you're trying to start slow and add new elements slowly as the player gets used to it but i feel like you could have introduced everything you introduced in the first 10 levels by level 5 if you really wanted to. people have short attention spans these days and if the first few levels aren't bomb they aren't gonna give it time of day. i almost clicked out of it early but i could tell it was well designed so i gave it a chanc

there's a really annoying glitch tho you need to fix. it registers the controls when you die for the next life before you're visible on the screen so on levels where you start out in front of an enemy you end up rapidly racking up deaths because if you keep the arrow key held down for even a second past your moment of death you run directly into the enemy on the next life.

BliculiApps responds:

Thanks stephen for your awesome feedback. I ll definitly take the consideration of reduce intro levels to 5 or 6. I will work with the camera glitch too thanks for take the time to write me up.

i wanted to like this a lot more than I did but there are too many issues with it at the moment. Here's a quick list of things I noticed:

-There's no way to tell what level you are.
-you can't tell what level the enemies are without right-clicking and there's no indication that right-clicking even does anything in this game so if I hadn't played runescape before i wouldn't have even thought to try that.
-the vast majority of the enemies are way stronger than you even though you're in the starting area.
-it says your max health increases with attack level but it doesn't...
-it's basically a clone of runescape, which i wouldn't mind as much if the game was more cohesive.
-chickens break the laws of physics. if you follow them long enough they just disappear.
-there's no quick or obvious way to recover health and everything deals high damage even the low level enemies (2 and 3 is high damage when you only have 10 hp) so you have to spend too much time waiting to heal.
-since everythng seems to fucking slay you and you lose everythign when you die it's pretty much impossible to make progress.
-it's really unclear where anything is. are there shops? what use are these items? shoudl i sell them? where do i find things to heal? i can't really explore much because too far north or west and infected people kill me in a matter of seconds

This is a really good first attempt at something like this and it's obvious a lot of work went into this but you need to have more people test the game and get more feedback before releasing something like this because i hate to see so much potential underperform.

On the positive side the art is really cute and unique and the music and controls of the game are dope as well. I would honestly just work a lot more on this and rerelease it because it could be very dope.

I'd copy runescape a little less tho ;)

Maxiecole responds:

Hi, thanks for the detailed feedback!:)
A few questions,
what do you mean by "No way to tell what level you are?" Do you mean a general level of the character? Each skill has it's own level and can be viewed in the stats menu.
About the health problem, the third/fourth quest is practically a guide how to heal your health via potions and food. Before that it would be indeed hard to make significant progress.

Nicely drawn but I can just press "tab" to see where all the items are. There are definitely scripts to fix that though I've seen that issue resolved in other flash games

icyoak responds:

Very nice catch, I thank you for your observation and rating!

It's fixed now, partially (you can still tab through the inventory items). What I did in order to stop they TAB key highlighting the buttons/text on the Stage was to add "yourMovieClipName.tabChildren = false;" in my code. Maybe someone needs this solution in the future, cheers!

Dope game! I never played the original but this is hella fun!

Chewythepig responds:

The original has gone to shit since the latest update, so yea. Thanks for the review!

I am an animator, artist and voice actor and I usually animate the first thing that comes to my head. I have a weird head...
